“I find it odd that not everyone wants to be a DJ. There is no greater feeling than being able to manipulate the exact next thought about to enter someone’s mind.”

Mesquitas was born in Paramaribo Suriname but has spent the biggest part of his life on the island of Aruba. It is possible to say that the island has molded Mesquitas into the person he is today.  
His mother and sister being into music, it came to no surprise that, at the age of 14, Mesquitas wanted in on the action.
Mesquitas choose for a subtle approach towards music. This subtlety is still to be heard in his tracks and mixes now. At the age of 20 Mesquitas decided to move to the Netherlands, at first this decision wasn't based upon his music career, but touching turntables for the first time he knew that they would have a great impact on the rest of his life.

Mesquitas’ conquest as a DJ began in an old unknown town café in Eindhoven. Turning this old-town café into a respected club earned Mesquitas a life-time residency. Nowadays Club Fifties is well known around the Netherlands and DJs go through long waiting lists to get a chance of performing there. This was only the beginning for young Mesquitas, after growing fond but weary of what Eindhoven had to offer him at the time, he decided to move to Rotterdam.
